Im Zuge der Plenarsitzung in Nürnberg am 26.02.2025 wurde beschlossen den ISB als Mitglied in das WFSA aufzunehmen.
Das WFSA ist die größte internationale Vereinigung von Jagd-, Schieß- und Industrieorganisationen mit Mitgliedern auf der ganzen Welt und vertritt über hundert Millionen Jäger und Sportschützen auf fünf Kontinenten.
Das WFSA ist eine offizielle Nichtregierungsorganisation (NGO) der Vereinten Nationen, die vom Wirtschafts- und Sozialrat der UN-Generalversammlung anerkannt ist. Sie ist eine der wenigen NGOs weltweit, die zu Reden vor jedem der fünf Ausschüsse der UN-Generalversammlung eingeladen wurde. Das WFSA und ihre Mitgliedsverbände nehmen seit 30 Jahren an allen großen UN-Konferenzen teil, die sich mit der Jagd oder dem Sportschießen befassen.

Das WFSA arbeitet mit internationalen Gremien, nationalen Regierungen und Regulierungsbehörden zusammen, um die Jagd- und Sportschießaktivitäten weltweit zu fördern und zu erhalten. Das nach belgischem Recht gegründete Weltforum hat den Zweck, fakten- und wissenschaftlich fundierte Lösungen für die vielen komplexen Probleme im Zusammenhang mit dem Besitz und Gebrauch von Schusswaffen zu fördern.

The WFSA is an international association of national and regional hunting, shooting, and industry organizations. Founded in 1996, the WFSA has members all over the world, and represents over one hundred million hunters and sport shooters on five continents. The WFSA is an official United Nations Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) recognized by the Economic and Social Council of the UN General Assembly. It is one of the few NGOs in the world to have been invited to speak before every one of the five committees of the UN General Assembly. The WFSA and its member associations for almost 30 years have attended every major UN conference affecting hunting or sport shooting.

The WFSA works in concert with international bodies, national governments and regulatory authorities, for the worldwide promotion and preservation of hunting and sport shooting activities. Chartered under Belgian law, the World Forum has the purpose to promote fact- and science- based solutions to the many complex issues related to the firearms possession and use.
